Penciling and Planning

Photo © Esther Chaye
Purchased this pretty daily planner from The Hach on Main St. a few weeks ago. I definitely recommend to stop by, there are so many delightful stationery items inside this neat little shop. Although I’m afraid to write in it because its just too perfect! Behind the grey planner is ‘Love Poems’ by Pablo Neruda I picked up at Anthropologie and behind that is Sessun’s Spring/Summer Catalogue.
The sun has finally graced us with its presence here, yipee!

Plant Love

My mom really loves her indoor plants, she has one at every corner of the house. Although I’m not plant-crazed, I really enjoy this one she bought. Maybe the older we get, the more plants we want to buy? Who knows.

Weekend Things (sans photos)
I had a nice time with my friends on Friday. Sarah blogged about Blue Owl a week ago (see the post, great images by Dave) and invited me to come along on her second visit. Joined by little brother Klassen, mama Klassen, Sarah and Dave, we squished in her cute little car and ventured to the boutique. I was overwhelmed with so many beautiful trinkets! We also had tasty sandwiches next door, I had the turkey avocado, yum! We stopped by Butter Baked Goods afterwards…I think the smell of that bakery made me weak in the knees.
The next day I went to Crave with the BF and ordered the herbed shrimp avocado sandwich. Yes, sandwiches are worth blogging about (well the good ones at least). I highly recommend this plate (and place), the open-faced sandwich is a bit difficult to eat but the taste makes up for it.

Grey Day

To match with this current cloudy weather — I’m wearing grey brogues and stockings. Is it me or did it feel like Monday yesterday? How is it Thursday! I’m getting so old.

Cotton Candy

Summer, where are you? As much as I love my wool coat, I’d like to be free of heavy winter attire. I decided to get a head start and wear a short sleeve shirt, paint my nails and have what’s left of my cotton candy (whilst in the warmth of my heated room, of course). Why does the sun have to be such a tease!

Love Love

Last night I saw the L’illusionniste. It was sad yet touching. It reminded me to always appreciate the people you love. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Paper Memories

With the help of paper, I felt that I had more than I actually had growing up. An outfit for barbie was easily remedied with a tissue dress. I had a lonely set of miniature plates in need of some faux food. So my aunt and I coloured in some fruit on thick cardstock, cut it out and I instantly had a bowlful of paper fruit. There’s no denying that I was meant to be in a creative career with paper in the mix. I was pleased to find my fellow design classmates just as obsessed over the fine details of texture, varnishes, weight and the array of colours paper came in. It made me realize that I wasn’t a paper freak fanatic all by my lonesome.
I had the sudden urge to fold origami since I spend a considerable amount of time staring at the computer screen these days. I learned how to make this simple origami crane egg during my brief stint working at a Korean stationery shop (7 years ago). They sold a lot of origami packages and I couldn’t find the ones I bought/saved, so I assume I gave them away (so sad).

Some Sunshine

Today, I had a bit of sunshine fill my room and I didn’t need to use the heater! I’m currently watching hamster videos on youtube while enjoying this sunlight. Cute!
